Hello. My name is Leo and I’ve been playing the piano and guitar for over 30 years. I’ve been teaching Piano, Keyboard, guitar and ukulele individually for the past 4 years both in person and online. Prior to this, I have 10 years experience teaching children in Primary and Secondary schools, working as a classroom music teacher. At the moment, I have a lot of availability during the day, from 9am to 3pm. I currently have about 30 pupils who I teach, which means I only have limited availability from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. Although I mainly teach children, I am also really happy to teach adults too.

I live in Dartford, and I offer online lessons, face to face lessons, as well as correspondence tuition. Online lessons take place through Zoom, but I can use other platforms if needed. Face to face lessons are taught in my music studio in Dartford. For learning using correspondence, students send me the pieces they are working on (via WhatsApp for instance), and I will reply with a video demonstration of what they can do to improve their playing. The fee is based on how many minutes are needed for the videos from the pupil and me, which is agreed beforehand. I am also more than happy to create a tailormade course that can use all three approaches.

I teach Classical, Jazz and Blues piano, Rock and Pop keyboards up to Grade 8. I teach Classica, Acoustic and Rock guitar up to Grade 5. I can also help with music theory, improvising and composition. If you need support with GCSE Music, as I have experience in this area, I can assist here too. I take pupils through exams with the Trinity (my preference) and ABRSM boards. Of course, learning songs to perform in exams is important, it certainly is not the be all and end all, as I think it is really important to develop the creative side too. Many pupils learn to play and compose just for fun and never take an exam!
